Through The Lens 46 – Happy Halloween!

The Grave Diggers from the Haunted Mansion sequence of the Boo To You parade is one of my favorite parts of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Capturing them making sparks on the pavement with their shovels requires a little flash blur.

Happy Halloween!

Through The Lens 44 – Main Street Electrical Parade

Since the Main Street Electrical Parade ended it’s run at Walt Disney World last weekend, I thought it would be appropriate to share one of my favorite photos of the parade. A couple of years ago, I rented a fisheye lens to capture the parade as it moved through Town Square and all the way up to the Hub in the Magic Kingdom. After talking about photography for a few minutes, a kind family offered to trade spots with me so I could have the center spot on the upper level of the train station. Sometimes it helps to be lucky.

Through The Lens 37 – Fireworks!

Ever wondered what 709 seconds of fireworks looks like?  Here’s all of Illuminations from center stage at EPCOT in one shot.  Not perfect, but not bad for a first try.  Looking forward to trying it again later this year.

Through The Lens 22 – Catastrophe Canyon

This week’s photo is one from the archives – Catastrophe Canyon from the Studios Backlot Tour at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  With the news that the demolition of this attraction, one of my favorites since the early days of Disney’s MGM Studios, is complete, I thought now would be a good time to post my favorite image from the attraction.

I’m sure many photographers wish they would have gotten images of things that they thought would be around forever but were gone before they could get back to them.  I have many things on that list, but fortunately, this was one I was able to get before it was gone.

Through The Lens 11 – Toy Soldiers

The Toy Soldier segment of the Once Upon A Christmas Time Parade is one of my favorites. After several attempts to capture this sequence, I finally got it during a trip in Decmber 2013.
